Fullstack Software Engineer (Backend)
Pluto
Who we are
Pluto is an early-stage startup with privacy technology that reimagines how users own, share and communicate information on the internet. We are building on core principles of privacy and respect to provide APIs/SDKs to companies that enable them to deliver advanced privacy, security and data ownership to their users, as well as data and communication tools to measure and advance DEI.
We are a venture-backed company at a pivotal and exciting point in our journey. We are a very small, but mighty team, with each person being both thinker and doer.
The opportunity
We are seeking an exceptional software engineer, technologist and human with good programming principles. You will work closely with our engineering team to create, refine and scale Pluto's backend, database, API, frontend, privacy and security layers to enhance the digital infrastructure for how companies of the future are run and managed. This is an opportunity to architect new solutions and implement them promptly, and have an immediate impact.
Given our stage, we are looking for a thought partner who is passionate about our mission of respect and privacy, and thinks strategically about the future of Pluto, but who can also formulate and execute on the day-to-day details efficiently and pragmatically. You should embrace the realities of strategic technical debt and strive to maintain a balance between long-term code efficiency and immediate business needs. You should be able to research any problem or area you aren't familiar with, get up to speed quickly and build it.

Help build and improve key features and infrastructure to drive Pluto's growth and impact
Build and scale high-quality, secure and privacy-respecting data collection, communication and incident reporting tools for companies and their employees
